Fire your designer--you CAN do your own email creative

Companies thrive on profit, do they not? When the numbers are off, they struggle to find ways to cut corners in order to compensate for lost profit. This sometimes results in layoffs, budget cuts, or even making things that were once luxuries things that are now distributed if you have a "good business case." Most marketers tend to want outside people to do a job that they could easily do on their own with a little guidance. Love the glitz and glam of an email with lots of cool features? Guess what--you can have it by doing the email yourself. You have to admit that it would be a lot cheaper, and it gives you a whole new skillset that you thought you would never have. In addition, you avoid the rigamarole of going back and forth with an outside agency that cannot seem to do specifically what you ask.
